The problem is that the lines in these checkboxes are so thin that they don't show up when the reports are faxed. This is a problem! Icetips Wizards now work with Clarion 4 & 5 14-Nov-2001 -- Arnor Baldvinsson   Icetips Software is proud to present the first update release of our Icetips Wizards, Standard Edition. There aren't really any bug fixes in this release because no bugs have been reported since we made the last build of the initial release:) The major new feature is that the wizards now work with both Clarion4 and Clarion5.   Because of the way wizards were set up in Clarion4 and Clarion5, one line in the browse, update and report procedure templates needs to be modified to make the browse, form and report wizards 100% compatible with C4 and C5. Instructions for these changes are in the online help and in the new ReadMe file. We trust he'll be back at the helm of Clarion Magazine soon, but not before he's well-rested and recovered. Bonny, take good care of him, but take care of yourself and the baby, too!   Paul Melevende of Australia spent a few days in the hospital but is home now, says he is feeling better, and is back to work (he said something about the mortgage payment not taking a break).   Steve Walker is recovering from a recent heart attack. Windows XP compatibility 27-Nov-2001 -- Arnór Baldvinsson   There have been some problems reported with using Clarion on the new Windows XP operating system. SoftVelocity has released a alpha build of Clarion 5.507 (5.5G) to fix this. Read more about it New virus out there!!! 26-Nov-2001 -- Arnór Baldvinsson   This morning I got a nasty animal in the email. Norton Antivirus (version 8.00.58B - for Windows XP) caught it before it downloaded and put into quarantine. This virus is brand new: was discovered on Saturday, November 24th!!!   To quote the Symantec web site: "W32.Badtrans.B@mm is a MAPI worm that emails itself out as one of several different file names. The index is easy to navigate and does not rely on java or javascript.   Inexpensive workhorse PC 11-Nov-2001 -- Susan Pichotta   Want a new computer but don't need a "big iron"? We found what seems to be the best deal around... an eMachine. (a what?)   For $500 (after rebate), we got a 1.0 Ghz Intel Celeron processor, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive, CD-RW, and a 56k modem. It came with XP (home edition). Arnor upgraded the ram to 256 at our local Altex for a whole $20.   We bought our eMachine at a local Office Depot (some carry them, some don't), but they're available from online retailers, too. (To what? For more info, go to Clarion Magazine.   Problem in 5.5F and Legacy 21-Oct-2001 -- Arnor Baldvinsson   Phil Will of ProDomus reports that Clarion 5.5 F has problems with Legacy templates because it doesn't provide the same template symbols as all previous versions of Clarion. This can affect template developers who still support the Legacy chain in their products. Read more about it   Source code in escrow? 21-Oct-2001 -- Susan Pichotta   Ever had a client ask you to place their (your) source code in some sort of escrow? There's an interesting discussion of this issue in the topspeed.topic.general newsgroup.
