If you're selling (or intend to sell) software or a service via the internet, do yourself

Read more about it Marketing Moments: Books for review 29-July-2002 -- Susan Pichotta To begin our "Marketing Moments", I'd like to recommend some books for your marketing pleasure. (We'll talk about them later.)
"The Big
Red Fez" by Seth Godin is a must-have for anyone who sells from a website.
It's a small book, a quick read, and very good. It goes straight to
the heart of effective site design.
One of my favorite marketing books from a "stand back and think about it" perspective is
"Marketing Warfare"
by Ries and Trout. It provides a fascinating approach to the basic concepts behind, and approaches to, marketing. It's well-written and, IMO, an absolute must-have. New affiliation with Amazon 29-July-2002 -- Susan Pichotta Icetips Software is pleased to announce that we have been

vendor, and customer information that is located on the Internet and on local storage drives.
One example of it's use is the Clarion Third Party Profile Exchange, a wonderful service
maintained by David Troxell.Announcing the Engagement 15-July-2002 -- Susan Pichotta ![]() I am very pleased to announce the engagement of my oldest daughter, Sarah Joy Sullivan, to 2nd Lt. INN Bio: Steven Spierenburg 21-Aug-2002 -- Susan Pichotta For this week's INN Bio, we visit Europe again and meet a former
professional (and Army) cook.
Now a programmer, he's spent time working with Clarion & IBM AS400s, and building (or not?) websites.
I definitely agree with his "who I admire most", and check out the photo showing
a Microsoft billboard in a rather unlikely place.

Adding Page of Pages to a Clarion Report 21-Aug-2002 -- Dave Harms For many years now it has been difficult to add a Page of Pages variable to a Clarion report.
It has also been difficult to print more than one copy of a report without clicking on
the print/report button twice, or using the printer properties to specify multiple copies.
Inspired by Bruce Johnson's ABC book, and some conversations at ETC III, Nardus Swanevelder
finds a solution to both problems.INN Bio: Michelle Dyason 29-July-2002 -- Susan Pichotta This week, the Icetips News Network is pleased to present another South African...
or would that be a Floridian? Originally a chemist, now an independent software developer, she has worked
in some really interesting places and has some good stories... not to mention a rather
unusual (but really cool) wedding photo.Read more about it Sorts! Files! Queues! 29-July-2002 We're sorting all over the place! Alison Neal concludes her
series on sorting algorithms, and Gordon Smith shows how to implement a custom queue sorting procedure. INN Bio: Steve Bottomley 15-July-2002 -- Susan Pichotta This week, the Icetips News Network is pleased to feature our first Australian. Known on the
newsgroups as "Steve B.", he was an early joiner of the lazy programmer's club.
And before that? He's another... you guessed it... musician! And he sent some great pics, too.
But I must admit to being puzzled by his "anything else you want to mention"...Read more about it A Single Browse for Multiple Lookups 15-July-2002 -- Dave Harms There have been a few threads in the newsgroups lately regarding techniques for
handling a multitude of lookup tables in an application. Randy Rogers recently faced this situation,
and came up with an efficient solution. Previous INN Bios Missed the previous bios? You can read them in our other Archives. |
