Clarion developer buys ½ interest in web hosting company 24-Oct-2001 -- Susan Pichotta Clarion developer and SQL guru Andy "Cowboy" Stapleton recently bought ½ interest in the web hosting company dbWired.com Earlier this month, Andy and other dbWired principals spent a weekend at Andy's
37 acre ranch outside of Campwood, Texas, plotting and planning
the company's future. On the immediate horizon is updating some
of the online interaction with customers. Their future business will be geared
toward hosting, Business to Business Web Development, Information
Portals, and Conversion from Clarion to the Web.With Unix hosting plans starting at only $5.95/month and domain registration as low as $10/year, they are one of the more affordable hosting companies around. Andy says most of their new business has been people transferring from other hosting companies to dbWired, as some of the smaller "mom & pop"s go out of business. DbWired.com is located in Hartford, CT. Started in 1999, they have built up to hosting 2 terabytes of data, with an OC48 in Boston and DS3 in Hartford, and multiple T1's in Berlin, CT.
